What you can rely on, and what you can't

Every wage and employment figure here is built by a script from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) and carries its vintage in the footer. Licensing details are transcribed from the state authority named on each page, with the source linked and dated. The aim is that nothing on the site is unsourced. Even so, agencies revise data, boards change rules, and transcription can err — so for a decision that carries money or a deadline, confirm the figure against the official source the page links to. The site is provided "as is," without warranty that every figure is current or error-free.

This is information, not advice

SmartPathGuides reports public data about pay and licensing. It does not give career, legal, financial or tax advice, cannot tell you whether a specific school, apprenticeship or move is right for you, and is not a substitute for the state licensing board that actually governs your case. Decisions you make are your own.

How the site stays honest

• Numbers come from the source file, not from a writer's memory. A page never states a figure its source does not carry.
• A licensing section appears only where the state-board data behind it has been collected and cited. Where it hasn't, the page says so rather than guessing.
• Corrections are made at the source and welcomed — see contact. How the data is built is on the data page.
